Skye’s Half Square Triangle quilt

I love this quilt that Skye made for her son!!  So much so, I have some solid fabrics leftover from my Modern Building Blocks quilt.  So I just might have to make this, if my scraps are big enough.

I love the random layout of the blocks and colors.  If I remember right, these blocks are 5” or 6” big.

Skye loves strait line quilting, and asked that I do the line 1.25” apart.  There is navy minky on the back, so she wanted to keep it soft.  I also used the channel locks on my machine, instead of a line created in the computer.  I had better accuracy as I advanced the quilt in each section.

I used a white 30 tex A&E Perma Core thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.

What quilts are you planning on making this coming year?  I’ve been working on two different quilts for awhile, that are quite involved.  So maybe I should sneak in a quick one like this.

Happy Quilting!!  Happy New Year!!
