Laser Cut Quilts - Composed quilt
Hello!!
I hope things are going well for each one of you! I am excited to finally share this stunning butterfly quilt that I quilted for Laser Cut Quilts, back in August. Isn’t it absolutely beautiful?!?!!! Designed by Madi Hastings using Hoffman Indah Batik solids, it’s called Composed. It will be available in March of 2021. They are accepting pre orders on their website for kits, and the preorders are on sale.
It’s offered as pattern with pre-printed fusible. Which is available now!!
Laser Cut Quilts is offering you 20% off by using my code LEISHA20 on their Flexi Fuse website, go to: https://flexifuse.com/discount/LEISHA20?redirect=%2Fproducts%2Fcomposed-kits-packages
If you’ve been around here for awhile, then you know how much I LOVE Laser Cut Quilts “Flexi Fuse” interfacing!!! It is an absolute breeze to quilt through. Their laser cut kits are backed with their Flexi Fuse, however they also offer Flexi Fuse in sheets or on a roll. I encourage you to try it!! You won’t want to use another interfacing again. It is so light weight my machine has no issues quilting through multiple layers, plus it doesn’t make your quilt hard and crunchy.
Onto the quilting…can you tell I had fun with this one?!?!!!! I used a cream thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
I wanted the quilting to enhance the overall butterfly details without taking away from it. I also wanted it to look organic and not symmetrical. With the pebbles, feathers, and cross hatching I think it turned out pretty awesome!
I used my favorite 8” Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple to quilt the cross hatch and the horizontal lines in the body of the butterfly. I also only quilted a few different parts of the appliqué. The background is quilted tight enough it helps the appliqué pop. Personally, I also think it’s unnecessary to quilt everything. Over quilting appliqué can tend to take away from the beauty of the appliqué.
This will be such a fun new project to start in the spring of 2021!!

I love the pop of blue on the binding. Thanks for stopping by. I have some fun quilts that I’ve been quilting lately. I’ll share them in another post in December or January. I hope you each can have a joyful holiday season.
Happy quilting, Leisha
