Heidiโs Omigosh Quilt
Earlier this year I had the opportunity to custom quilt this incredible quilt that Heidi made!!! Those little squares are 1/2โ big. Iโm amazed at the beauty and complexity of this one.
The pattern is by Sue Garman and itโs called, Omigosh. The pattern is available here: https://www.comequilt.com/shop/c/p/Omigosh-Digital-x67416969.htm
This would be such a great scrap buster quilt!
I used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
Such a classic quilt, deserves a classic stipple. I love that is what Heidi requested. A stipple is one of those first designs to learn as you set out to start custom quilting. If youโre interested in getting started, I have just the right course for you. My Quilting It Freemotion course. It is available on my website, go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course Stippling is the first design I teach, with 9 other designs to follow.
I used my favorite cream Omni thread for the center and white thin border and a red coordinating thread for the two red borders.
I did ribbon candy, pebbles, and my swirly feathersโฆthe pebbles and swirly feathers are also designs I teach in my Quilting It Freemotion course. https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course
Close up on the amazing piecing that Heidi did!!!
Below are the details Heidi shared on her instagram of this quilt!! Itโs fun to see. If I made a quilt like this, I totally would count everything, too. Which I have done on other quilts that Iโve made that have tons of pieces. Itโs fun to have all of those statistics.
If youโre interested in having me quilt for you, check out my edge to edge quilting calendar and schedule a day or two. I still have availability before Christmas. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge

Nancyโs Annabelle Quilt
How darling is this quilt?!?!!
Nancy made this cute Annabelle quilt, which is a pattern by Fran from Cotton and Joy. Here is a link to the PDF pattern: https://cottonandjoy.com/products/annabelle-quilt-pattern-download
I suggested something swirly, and sent Soho to Nancy. She said yes, and Iโm glad she did. Soho is by Sarah Ann Myers and itโs available at Urban Elementz, go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/soho.html
I seriously love this panto design!! Soho is so versatile and goes beautifully on so many quilts.
I used cream Omni thread from Superior Thread and 8020 cotton poly blend batting at Winline Textiles.
Are you hoping to get a quilt or two quilted before Christmas? Iโd love to quilt for you. Go to my edge to edge quilting calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge
To make this quilt even better, the backing is minky!! I love solid minky, the quilting always creates the most beautiful texture.
Thanks for stopping by!! Happy quilting ๐ Leisha
Louiseโs Pastel Stars Table Runner
I love it when a new client sends her friends or sisters to me, too! Thank you, Louise!
Louise sews in a group with some of my other clients and she started bringing me her projects this year, and two of her sisters have as well!! Itโs fun to see their different tastes in fabric or patterns.
This fun table runner Louise made with the Pastel Stars table runner pattern by Mimiโs Quilts and More: https://mimisquiltsandmore.com/products/pastel-stars-table-runner
I used my favorite natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads and a scrap of 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
Louise said to surprise her with a quilting design, so I chose my Sweet Orange Peel panto. Itโs available on my shop, go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop/p/sweet-orange-peel
Sweet Orange Peel is one of my best sellers!
Love the curves on all of the straight lines, I think it softens them up a bit.

Kristanโs Tuesday Afternoon Quilt
This quilt had to be a labor of love!! Itโs incredible.
Kristan made this stunning Tuesday Afternoon Block of the Month quilt by Treehouse Textiles. This quilt is also a skill builder with English paper piecing, curves and traditional piecing. The pattern is available on Treehouse Textiles website. https://treehousetextiles.com.au/collections/block-of-the-month/products/tuesday-afternoon-quilt-pattern
Earlier this year I finished my Hexie flower quilt, so you can imagine how in awe I am at a quilt like this!!!
I have oodles of pictures to share in hopes that you can see the details more clearly. Here is the center, and all the borders or blocks build off from here.
Here are the left and right sides of the center block.
Below are the beautiful stars with the circles on the left side.
I used the Pyrex Stems panto from Julie Hirt, which is one of the few Kristan picked for me to choose from. Which I think turned out so fun, especially with all of the beautiful fabrics she used. Pyrex Stems can be found here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/577305907/pyrex-stems-longarm-quilting-digital
I also used my favorite cream Omni (3004) thread from Superior Threads to quilt it, and 4 oz bamboo batting from Winline Textiles.
Iโm an ambassador for Superior Threads, and if youโd like to get the cream Omni thread I used on this quilt or any other colors please use my 10% off coupon code: โASTLEISHAโ. Here is a link to the cream thread I used. https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-3004-cream/p/134-02-3004
These large Dresden circles are probably my favorite part about this quilt!!
I hope you enjoyed looking at this beautiful quilt!!

Heidiโs Queenโs Garden Quilt
Please sit down so you can fully grasp the beauty of this quilt!! Of course the pictures donโt capture just how beautiful it is!
Heidi made this gorgeous Queenโs Garden quilt, a pattern and fabrics by French General. The fabric line is Antoinette. The kit is available on their website: https://www.frenchgeneral.com/collections/antoinette/products/antoinette-the-queens-grove-quilt-kit-pre-order-ships-february-2024
I used the perfectly match Almond (3005) Omni thread color to quilt it!! Itโs the perfect creamy tan color. When you order next make sure to grab it, itโs a good one! https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-3005-almond/p/134-02-3005
Did you know that you can get thread cards that have actual thread swatches on them? Itโs a must for me to know exactly what colors I need. https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-color-card-book/p/134-99
While youโre there be sure to use my Ambassador code โASTLEISHAโ to get 10% off your order. Cannot be combined with any other discounts.
I was so excited to see that Heidi chose Moulin Rouge petite for the Panto design, which is by Patricia Ritter and is available at Urban Elementz. https://www.urbanelementz.com/moulin-rouge-petite.html itโs such a gorgeous design!!
I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles, based out of Utah.
How gorgeous are these florals!!!
The quilty texture is sooo good!
It looks like Mulan Rouge petite panto is dancing across the quilt in the most lovely way.
One more close up!!

Peace by Piece โข Festival of Trees Quilt
A local quilt guild has been excitedly making several quilts to help with two local charities, one of which is the Festival of Trees. The Festival of Trees is a fundraising event the beginning of every December which supports Primary Childrenโs Hospital in Salt Lake City. The amazing medical professionals at this hospital have helped a few of my niece and nephews. I love to give back to them, even in small ways. To find out more about the organization, to go: https://intermountainhealthcare.org/foundation/festival-of-trees
Two of my friends in this guild are quilting several of the quilts, so I offered to quilt one. The bright and happy dots are sure to cheer up whoever receives this quilt. Iโm not sure if it will be donated to a child or auctioned off. Either way, Iโm happy itโs on its way.
I quilted the quilt with the Soho panto design by Sarah Ann Myers, which can be found at Urban Elementz. https://www.urbanelementz.com/soho.html
Iโm not sure what the quilt pattern is. It reminds me of a classic chain block with a simple square every other block.
I used my go to favorite Omni thread from Superior Threads, Natural White 3002. It blends so beautifully over every color. To try it out on your machine, go to: https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-3002-natural-white/p/134-02-3002
Iโm a Superior Thread Ambassador, if youโd like 10% off your order, use code โASTLEISHAโ, which canโt be used with any other promotion.
The guild supplied some polyester batting which adds a fun little dimension to the quilt.
The quilt was pieced by Jan and will be bound by Joleene, both members of the guild. The fabrics are from Riley Blake.
Joleene also told me of a local need. There are so many kids and teens in our area, as well as other parts of the country, who have no blanket or quilt to sleep with and theyโre sleeping on the floor. I encourage you to look for a place in your area to donate an extra quilt or two you may not be using. Letโs see if we can make a difference one quilt at a time!
Look at all those happy colors.
Thanks for stopping by. If youโre interested in having me quilt for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge
Happy quilting!! Leisha
Kathyโs amazing Blooming Star Quilt
Excited to share this stunning quilt that I custom quilted earlier this summer!!
Kathy always does an incredible job, and this Blooming Star quilt is one of the most amazing ones sheโs sent me to quilt. The latter is called Blooming Star by Edita Sitar. Here is a link to the pdf pattern, if you love paper patterns she sells them, too. It looks like she may even have some kits available, which may be available for long. https://www.laundrybasketquilts.com/online-store/Blooming-Star-PDF-download-p232395443
When I saw that Kathy wanted wool batting on her machine quilting form, I was excited to have the custom quilting pop!! I use Hobbs wool.
Can you believe all that detail???! The inner points of the star that go around the circle are dimensional, and pop up with the combination of wool batting and quilty textures.
I love a neutral thread on quilts like this! Omni from Superior Threads is my favorite thread. Itโs thick and quilts out beautifully. I used the cream #3004 Omni thread for this quilt, it blends beautifully. Itโs available at Superior Threads, go to: https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-3004-cream/p/134-02-3004
All the beautiful lines were quilted using an Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. Her Edge rulers are my favorite straight rulers!! https://www.thequiltedpineapple.com/shop/
I wanted to highlight the blocks so I decided to quilt around each block and do a pebble with an occasional swirl in the background. I quilted a swirl with a couple of feathers in each star pieces with 1/2โ cross hatched squares on point in the center of the block. For the triangle edge blocks I quilted my freehand Swirly Feather. Both the Swirly Feather and Pebbles are designs I teach in my Quilted It Freemotion video course. Check it out on my website: go toโฆ https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course

Willโs Baby Quilt
Will made this sweet baby quilt, unfortunately I donโt know the name of the pattern. It can easily be made with half square triangles. These were around 3.5โ-4โ, if I remember right. If someone knows the pattern, please let me know.
I gave Will a few choices and he chose Sweet Marmalade, which is fun!! It is one of Patricia Ritter and my panto designs, which is available at Urban Elementz. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/sweet-marmalade.html
I used bamboo batting from Winline Textiles and my favorite Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads.
The quilty texture is sooo good!!
If youโre interested in having me quilt for you, check out my edge to edge calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge
Thanks for stopping by!! Happy quilting, Leisha
Angieโs Strawberry Social Quilt
Iโm so excited to share this absolutely adorable strawberry quilt with you!!!
Angieโs daughter ate lots of strawberries when she was pregnant with her baby girl, so she had to make her this sweet quilt.
The pattern is called Strawberry Social by Margot from The Pattern Basket. Here is a link to her pdf pattern in her Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1001011999/strawberry-social-quilt-pattern-pdf
When I first saw the quilt I immediately thought that the Soho panto design by Sarah Ann Myers would be perfect for it!! That swirl that comes to a point is probably one of my favorites. Soho is available at Urban Elementz: https://www.urbanelementz.com/soho.html
I used my favorite natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
I love the red pin dot background fabric and the variety of fabrics she used for the strawberries.
That swirly texture is so good!!
One more ๐
Itโs even more darling with this pinkish red minky on the backing.
If youโre interested in having me quilt for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day to two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge

Midway Wool Quilts
Back in April I quilted these fun mini quilts for Midway Wool. There are fun wool textures on each quilt!!
This first one is called Grace by Jan Speed from A Piece of Work. The delicate stitching and wool textures are so beautiful!! Midway Wool has kits available on their website.
https://midwaywool.com/collections/kits-patterns/products/grace-kit-or-pattern
I used my favorite Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple to quilt the cross hatching on the border. https://www.thequiltedpineapple.com/shop/
I quilted pebbles and swirls in the center part, which are some of my favorites to quilt around appliquรฉ or embroidery. If youโre interested in learning how to freemotion quilt, Iโd love to help you!! Check out my Quilting It Freemotion Course on my website. https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course
I close up on the beautifully delicate flowers. I didnโt quilt the mini black border. I think itโs fine to leave a part unquilted, if there is lots of quilting around it.
I used cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
Next up,
Grettaโs Flock by Midway Wool. This would be a fun runner, wall hanging, or pillow. A kit is available on their website at: https://midwaywool.com/collections/kits-patterns/products/grettas-flock
When Anna dropped this off for me to quilt, I asked her about quilting crackle in the backgroundโฆshe said Yes!!! I definitely donโt freehand chicken wire, but I thought it would be great to do something that fits the overall look of the wall hanging without being so predictable and quilting chicken wire. I teach crackle in my Quilting It Freemotion Course, check it out! https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course
I quilted a 1/2โ diagonal line on the pinstripe, which adds texture and interest. I used Lindaโs Edge ruler for the diagonal lines. The Crackle is freehand.
Look at these details!!
I used cream and black Omni thread from Superior Threads and Winline Textiles 8020 for the batting.
Last oneโฆ
Itโs called Hen Party by Lamb Farm Designs, so fun!!! The kit is available here: https://midwaywool.com/products/hen-party
I think most of this one is wool, including the red sashing. Because of the thickness of the layers I couldnโt quilt the hens. Plus I didnโt want to take away from the beautiful stitches.
I quilted my Grass and Wood Grain freehand designs, which I also teach in my Quilting It Freemotion course. Go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course
I used the Deep Cardinal red and cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
I quilted my freehand Swirly Feather in the outer border, which is also a design I teach in my Quilting It Freemotion Course. https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course
I did quilt in the ditch on these steps because it was just poking up too much. Nice thing, you canโt even tell. You can see the pop in person though. So good!!
Thanks for stopping by. Itโs fun to share these cute quilts with you!!

Staceyโs Natureโs Watercolor mini quilt
This absolutely stunning mini quilt is incredible. Those squares are so small!
The pattern is called Natureโs Watercolor by Kansas Troubles and Stacey uses Fluttering Leaves fabric collection.
I used a scrap piece of 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles and cream Omni thread from Superior Threads.
I decided to quilt little xโs in each square using an Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. https://www.thequiltedpineapple.com/shop/
I used my 7โ Circle2 ruler to quilt the curves in the outside border. My Circle2 rulers are available in a set of 6, and are available in my shop. Go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop/rulers
I quilted freehand swirly feathers in the background and inner border, and then an x and swirl alternating in the mini square border. Are you interested in learning how to quilt freemotion? Check out my Quilting It Freemotion video course, which is available on my website. Go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course
This is such a stunning mini quilt!! Love how it turned out.
All that quilty texture together is beautiful!!
Stacey also sent this adorable Snow Fun panel to be quilted. The panel is by Liza Lewis. Here is a link, once it sells out try googling it to see if more is available. https://fabricshack.com/products/snow-fun-panel-ski-lift-sky
Stacey chose Ginger Snap by Apricot Moon Designs for the quilting, which turned out so fun!! Ginger Snap is available at Urban Elementz https://www.urbanelementz.com/ginger-snap.html
I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
How darling is this texture?!?!

Staceyโs Kidding Around Goats in Pajamas Quilt
How fun is this quilt?!?!!!! First time Iโve quilted a quilt with goats on it.
Stacey made this adorable Kidding Around Goats in Pajamas quilt, pattern is by Art East Quilting Co. https://quiltinaday.com/products/kidding-around-goats-in-pajamas-quilt-pattern-by-art-east-quilting-co
Stacey chose Soho by Sarah Ann Myers, which such a fun texture on the goats. Soho is one of my favorite pantos, and it can be found at Urban Elementz. https://www.urbanelementz.com/soho.html
I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
If you look at the pattern youโll only see the goat blocks. Stacey added the 36 patch and sashing around all the blocks, which is a fun add to this already fun quilt.
How cute is he?!?!
This is a great quilt to be using up some of your scraps.
If to throw in a favorite sports team for one of the goatโs pajamas.
Thanks for coming by. If youโd like me to quilt something for you, please check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge

Laurieโs Color in the Lines Quilt
Laurieโs darling Color in the Lines baby quilt
This super sweet baby quilt is for Laurieโs first granddaughter!!! Iโve been friends with Laurie for awhile, and even babysat her kids. Itโs exciting she finally has a granddaughter to go with her cute grandsons.
The pattern is called Color in the Lines which is in the book Charming Baby Quilts by Melissa Corry. You can get a copy in her Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/780104880/charming-baby-quilts-signed-paperback
The fabrics that Laurie chose have cute little things from France. Iโm not sure who it is by.
She looked through my designs and chose Vintage Lace, which was exciting for me because I hadnโt put it on a quilt yet. It was perfect for the fabrics. The texture is so lovely. Vintage Lace is available in my shop, go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop/p/vintage-lace
It quilted out so beautifully!!
I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
The back has minky on it, so itโs extra cuddly.
This is why I love solid minky!!! The quilting provides unique texture that is so lovely.

Angieโs Pinwheel Baby Quilt
Love this super sweet baby pinwheel quilt that Angie made for her new granddaughter.
There are so many pinwheel patterns out there, Iโll let you pick one that you can find. One thing that help the pinwheels to stand out is adding the sashing and cornerstone blocks. Which also gives you the freedom to alternate the blocks, like Angie did every other row.
I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads, which is my go to thread of choice. I also used Winline Textiles 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
The panto design is Rose Vine by Norma Sharp. Itโs a free one that came on my Gammill Statler.
Love this quilty texture!!
Look at the minky backing!! Texture on texture.

Deniseโs Kracken Quilt
Isnโt this quilt amazing?!?!!!! Denise has made a few other Legit Kit quilts, and this Kracken quilt is one of them.
The kit is available here: https://legitkits.com/products/the-kracken-full-quilt-top-kit
Denise wanted an organic wavy line and I asked if it would be okay to add random circles throughout. When I think of octopuses I think of bubbles. I love how it turned out. I quilted everything freehand. I quilted the wavy lines first and then quilted the circles in here and there between the gaps in the curves.
I used an aqua colored thread from Superior Threads, I canโt remember if it was an Omni thread or a different one. I also used my favorite 8020 cotton poly batting from Winline Textiles.
Look at the incredible details on the face and arms. Amazing!!
Deniseโs son wanted this quilt, lucky him!!!
Here is a close up of the wavy organic texture and circles.
I tried to make the quilting as random as possible.
Look at the details on the arms!! I was going to say tentacles but looked up the spelling and google said octopuses have arms with suckers on them, not tentacles. ๐ Learning new things all the time.
Denise found this fun minky for the backing, which added a fun additional texture.

Heidiโs Special Vintage Quilt
Excited to share this stunning quilt with you!!
Heidi was given some of her grandmotherโs hand embroidered dresser scarves and pillowcases, and she decided to make a beautiful quilt with them after seeing a quilt from Elsie Grays in Australia. She ordered precut diamonds in the most gorgeous fabrics from Elsie Grays, which was a fun shipment for her to receive in the US.
Here is a link to the fabric stores instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elsiegrays
Then she fussy cut the scarves and pillow cases, and let me tell youโฆthis quilt is such a keepsake. I love the texture and details those stitches add, plus itโs a piece of her grandma.
If I had these precious heirlooms, I would make one too.
Heidi chose Patricia Ritter and my Haven panto design for the quilting. She wanted something loose and swirly. Itโs a great choice. Haven is available at Urban Elementz : https://www.urbanelementz.com/haven.html
I used cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles which is based out of Utah.
Look at those embroidery details. ๐

Willโs Prairie Tracks Quilt
How beautiful is this quilt?!?! Will sent me this beautiful quilt to quilt a few months ago.
Itโs the Prairie Tracks quilt by Cotton and Joy. The pattern is available here: https://cottonandjoy.com/products/prairie-tracks-quilt-pattern
I love the mini square in the center of the block with the mini strip of fabric. Itโs almost as if the sashing and cornerstones that are typically around the blocks are inside this block. It makes the star blocks stand out more.
I used bamboo batting from Winline Textilesโฆhave you tried bamboo on one of your quilts yet? You should! I have 4 oz and 6 oz available. Send me your quilt and we can try it out. I love the 8020 I use, but the bamboo is super soft.
I gave Will a few choices, and he chose Patricia Ritterโs and my Sweet Indigo design. Which happens to be my favorite floral panto design. Sweet Indigo is available at Urban Elementz. https://www.urbanelementz.com/sweet-indigo.html
I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads, if youโve been around here for awhile you know itโs my go to favorite. It blends so well!!
Looks at that quilty texture, so good!!

Carolโs Landscape Collage Quilt
Over my nearly 19 year longarm quilting career, I havenโt quilted many landscape or collage quiltsโฆI can think of maybe one other.
Amazing, huh?!?! Carol took a picture, of a cactus with the mountains in the distance, and decided to do a collage quilt. Wait until you see the pictureโฆitโs incredible she was able to get the cactus to be so similar.
The quilt size is a lot smaller than youโd think, which makes the details even more impressive. Around 20โx30โ. She found an ombrรฉ background for the sky, which I love!!!
I did simple organic lines in the sky, straight lines in the blue mountainsโฆwhich are like the Overlapping Lines that I teach in my Quilting It Freemotion course, echoed lines in the tan mountains, and my freehand Grass design that I also teach in my Quilting It Freemotion course.
For more info on my course, go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course
Iโd love to teach you how to get started with freemotion quilting. Let me know if you have any questions.
See that quilty texture, sooo good!
I used a cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
Here is Carolโs picture she sentโฆamazing that she could take a photo/memory and turn it into an amazing quilt!
