Laurie‘s Disappearing Nine Patch Quilt
Are you ever in need of a quilt that’s fast or uses up your charm packs or layer cakes? This just might be it!!
Laurie made this Disappearing Nine Patch quilt using the free tutorial from Jenny at Missouri Star Quilt Company. Jenny actually has a video tutorial you can see here: https://youtu.be/dEjZOXxPazg?si=vG8H-Blr7n3RRdIG I’ve made a few of these quilts myself, and they are so fun!
I used my favorite Omni thread from Superior Threads, and I used the color cream. Click here:https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-3004-cream
I also used my favorite 8020 batting from Winline Textiles.
After seeing the darling fabrics that Laurie used, I suggested my Kapari design for the quilting and she said yes!! It’s one of my favorite designs that I’ve designed. It’s available in my shop. Go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop/p/kapari
Isn’t that quilty texture so good?!?!
Especially on a minky backing!!
This is why I love solid minky for quilt backings, a textured minky is going to compete with the quilting.
Are you hoping to get something quilted? Check out my calendar and schedule a day or two! Let’s get those quilts quilted. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge

Lisa’s Baby Quilts
Baby quilts don’t have to be complicated to be super cute!! Like these two that Lisa made.
This one is a free tutorial on Amy from Diary of a Quilter’s blog, it’s called Patchwork Star. Go to this link: https://www.diaryofaquilter.com/patchwork-star-baby-quilt-tutorial/
I love the fabrics Lisa used, especially the elephants.
I gave her a few panto choices and we went with Soho. She wanted something curvy to soften all the hard lines in the quilt pattern. Soho is available at Urban Elementz and is by Sarah Ann Myers. Ho to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/soho.html
I used Natural White Omni Thread from Superior Threads, which is my favorite. Click here: https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-3002-natural-white
Lisa loves bamboo batting, like I do!! So I put it in all her quilts. These both have Winline 4 oz Bamboo in them. I have the 6 oz in stock, too, if you’re ever looking for something with a little more loft.
The great thing about a simple baby quilt, like these two, you can choose fun fabrics which help give the quilt texture and personality. And, of course back them with luxurious minky!
Speaking of fabrics, how darling are those foxes?!!
Lisa is great at choosing wovens that make the quilts extra cozy.
Lisa saw my Squared Rounded design on a quilt awhile ago and had me quilt it on one of hers. She requested it again for the second time. Squared Rounded is a softer version of my classic Squared design, with the addition of the rounded corners. Both are available in my shop. Below is my Squared Rounded version. Here is a link: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop/p/squared-rounded
Here is a close up!!
I used Cream Omni Thread from Superior Threads for this one, you can find it here: Cream Omni Thread, it’s such a beautiful soft cream color! I use this and the Natural White (I linked above) more than any other colors.
Check out the quilty texture, especially on the minky!
Thanks for stopping by!! If you’d like to have me quilt for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge
Happy quilting!! Leisha
Ashley’s Patchwork Sky Quilt
Ashley has made several beautiful quilts, including this one. I love the fabrics she chose.
The pattern is called Patchwork Sky by Camille from Thimble Blossoms. The fabrics look like hers, too. Patchwork Sky is available at: https://thimbleblossoms.com/products/patchwork-sky-pdf-pattern?_pos=1&_sid=f6550a204&_ss=r
I used my favorite Natural White Omni thread and an 8020 blend batting that Ashley sent with her quilts.
Ashley chose the Ribbon Heart panto from Barbie at The Quilting Mill. You can find it here: https://thequiltingmill.com/product/ribbon-heart/
Look at that quilty texture, it’s so good!!
I love the movement of a curved design across a quilt with all these hard lines.
Check out that cute backing, too!!
If you’re interested in having me quilt edge to edge for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge

Julie’s Boo Quilt
Are you looking for a cute Halloween quilt?? This Boo quilt that Julie made is a pattern by April from Prairie Grass Quilts. Go to: https://www.prairiegrasspatterns.com/products/157-boo-pdf-pattern
January or February is the perfect time to start making a Halloween quilt or start collecting all the fabrics. I love the variety that Julie used.
I used Haunted Webs by Apricot Moon Designs, which is a great web design. It’s available at Urban Elementz, go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/haunted-web.html
I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 batting from Winline Textiles.
Here are some close ups of the fabrics and quilty texture.
Also, how cute is that Boo!!
The Haunted Web panto goes so well with the hexagon shaped blocks, because webs are typically in a similar shape.
Are you looking to get anything quilted? Check out my edge to edge calendar and sign up for day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge
Thanks for stopping by!! Happy quilting, Leisha
Lisa’s Pineapple Quilt
How amazing is this pineapple quilt that Lisa made!?! I love the variety of blues that she used throughout the quilt.
The pineapple block is a paper piecing block by Amber at Gigi’s Thimbles. You can find it here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/183374968/pineapple-block-paper-piecing-patterns
Lisa requested custom quilting on this one, and suggested a block design in the pineapple block itself, which was a great idea! Quilts like this can be tricky to pick out a custom quilting design. It would take far too long to custom quilt something in each strip.
I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and bamboo batting from Winline Textiles. Lisa loves bamboo in all her quilts!! I’m the same, once I started using bamboo I don’t want anything else.
You can see in the sashing I did a freehand ribbon candy design and an arched square in the corner posts.
For the block design I used Patricia Ritter’s and my Viola - Block #3 which is part of a collection that we designed together awhile ago. It’s available at: https://www.urbanelementz.com/quilting-designs/viola-block-3.html to check out the other beautiful Viola blocks and edge to edge design, go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Viola
I loved that this block design filled the space pretty good.
In the thin mini border I freehand quilted circles to help frame the quilt. It’s also an excellent way to quilt thinner boarders. I quilted my feathered swirl in the outside border, which goes really great with the block design that I quilted. If you’re interested in learning how to quilt freemotion, check out my Quilting It Freemotion course. Go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course
Above you’ll see one of my favorite ways to custom quilt a 9 patch. Squared arches and loops that connect all the way around the center square.
Such a beautiful quilt!!
If you’re interested in edge to edge quilting, check out my calendar and schedule a few days. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge
Thanks for stopping by! Happy quilting, Leisha
Nancy’s Acorn Woods Quilt
Nancy made this darling Acorn Woods quilt which is a pattern by Fig Tree & Co. Go to: https://store.figtreeandcompany.com/Acorn_Woods_Downloadable_from_Fig_Tree_Co_p/ftq-1800e.htm
It looks like she used a variety of fabrics from different lines. This would definitely be a great stash buster.
I used Natural White Omni Thread from Superior Threads. I also used 8020 batting from Winline Textiles.
I quilted Grapevine by Denise Schillinger available at Urban Elementz, which is one of my favorite leaf designs. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/grapevine.html
Here is a up of the leaf and loop panto…such great quilty texture.
If you’re interested in having me quilt for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge

Nancy’s Stars of the Harvest Mini Quilt
How cute is this mini quilt or pillow front…whichever Nancy decided to do to finish it up?!!! The pattern is called Stars of the Harvest by Fig Tree & Co. Click here: https://store.figtreeandcompany.com/Stars_of_the_Harvest_Downloadable_p/ftq-1965e.htm
It looks like some of Fig Tree & Co’s fabrics as well!! Super cute!!
If I remember right I suggested my Wicker panto design to Nancy and she was all for it. I’m thrilled with how it turned out!! Wicker is available in my shop, go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop/p/wicker I did it smaller than I normally do because the mini quilt is mini. I quilted it at 3.75” height to get 1/2”ish lines.
I used Natural White omni thread from Superior Threads and a scrap of 8020 batting from Winline Textiles.
I’m loving the triple stars, one inside of the other inside of the other.
Wicker has become one of my most favorite geometric quilty textures, it’s so classic and quilts out beautifully
Are you interested in having me quilt for you? Check out my calendar and schedule a day. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge
Happy quilting!! Leisha
Lots and Lots of T-shirt Quilts
One thing I quilt several of last year, yes I’m behind in blogging quilts, is t-shirt quilts. I’ll share 5 of them here, each one has a different design on it. It’s great to see the variety and how great they look!!
Heidi made this one for a friend, if I remember right. She chose Mod Dotz by Patricia Ritter, which is available at Urban Elementz. Click here: https://www.urbanelementz.com/mod-dotz.html
I used my favorite Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads. I used 8020 batting on each of these quilts, which is an excellent option for t-shirt quilts.
I may have used Mod Dotz once before on a t-shirt quilt I can’t remember…it such a great design. The curves really soften up the hard lines in the blocks .
Shirlene made this one…and several others. She’s a t-shirt quilt master!! She makes them so fast!
She wanted a loopy design, so I chose Going Loopy by Naomi Hynes and it’s available at Urban Elementz. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/going-loopy.html Isn’t that quilty texture so good?!?!!!! It’s fun to think out of the box and add a design on a T-shirt quilt that I typically wouldn’t pick. Now I may suggest it for future T-shirt quilts, especially if it’s for a girl. I love it!
I used a black Omni thread from Superior Threads.
This is another t-shirt quilt that Shirlene made, this one for her son.
I chose my Squared panto design after she requested a more masculine geometric design. Squared has been one of my favorite designs to put on a T-shirt quilt, I’ve done it several times. It looks great every time. It’s available in my shop, click here: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop/p/squared
I used black Omni thread from Superior Threads, and it blended beautifully on all of the different T-shirts. Typically, I do not like dark threads on lighter fabrics or blocks, but with the amount of black on this quilt, it turned out great.
T-shirt quilts are great with minky on the back, too. Flannel and cotton are also a great choice.
Barbara made this fun picture and t-shirt quilt for her granddaughter’s husband.
He even got to choose the design he wanted. He went with Diagonal Plaid by Patricia Ritter, which is available at Urban Elementz. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/diagonal-plaid.html This one is another classic design to put on T-shirt quilts. I’ve put it on several over the years.
I used Light Grey thread from Superior Threads, which blended beautifully.
Look at this fun grunge minky!! If I remember right, it’s one of the 90” wide minkys. It’s fun they are making some patterned minky in the 90” wide. This is like the solid minky without having the additional texture.
Last one, another quilt made by Shirlene!
She requested swirls, so I quilted Twirl on it. Twirl is by Patricia Ritter and me, and is available at Urban Elementz. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/twirl.html
Isn’t mini super cute?!?! I used black Omni thread from Superior Threads.
I hope you enjoyed seeing different designs on different quilts!! I’ve learned while I love the classic designs that I’ve used over and over, it’s great to try new ones too. They look just as great!!
If you’re interested in having me quilt for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge
Thanks for stopping by!! Happy quilting, Leisha
Nancy’s On the Road Quilt
How stinkin cute is the vintage bus quilt?!?!!!
Nancy made this On the Road quilt because her dad had one when she was growing up. It’s called On the Road by Satomi from Satomi Quilts. The pdf version of volume 2 is available here: https://www.satomiquilts.com/collections/digital-patterns/products/on-the-road-vol-2-_-digital-quilt-pattern
Nancy chose the Daisy Tiles panto by Heidi from Piece and Joy Quilting. It’s such a fabulous design. You can find it here: https://www.piecejoyquilt.com/designs-for-longarmers/p/daisy-tiles It was a perfect choice for this quilt!!
I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 batting from Winline Textiles.
Aren’t those flowers so perfect?!?!
More quilty texture!!
If you could make a quilt that reminded you of one of your parents, what would the quilt block look like?

It’s called Petal Pop by Melissa at Happy Quilting. You can find the pdf pattern in her shop. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1752231021/petal-pop-pdf-quilt-pattern-jelly-roll?
I gave Pat a few panto design options, she went with Happy Go Lucky by Melissa from Sew Shabby Quilting. Go to: https://www.sewshabbyquilting.com/product-page/happy-go-lucky
I used my favorite natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads. I also used 8020 batting from Winline Textiles.
This Happy Go Lucky design is such a fun one. It quilts out beautifully.
Especially cute on the white background fabric.
Backed with the softest minky!!

Sandy’s Geo Weaver Quilt
Happy new year!! I hope you have fun projects to make this year.
This darling Geo Weaver quilt that my mom made for some family friends who just had their first baby is the perfect shades of pinks.
The Geo Weaver pattern is by Lindsey from Pen and Paper Patterns. The PDF can be found here: https://penandpaperpatterns.com/collections/pdf-patterns/products/geo-weaver-pdf-quilt-pattern
My mom and her sister own Sister’s and Quilters, an online fabric shop, so my mom had a great selection of pinks. She may even have more fabrics to make into a quilt kit. If you’re interested contact her at https://www.etsy.com/shop/sistersandquilters
I’m loving the hombre look of the pink fabrics together. 💕
After looking at a few different flower panto designs, my mom chose Flower Child by Apricot Moon Designs available at Urban Elementz. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/flower-child.html
I used my favorite natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
I think my mom plans to make another one of these for my new niece, it looks like a fun and simple pattern.
Love all that quilty texture!
If you’d like to have me quilt for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge

Liz + Pat’s Paper Tree Quilt
So excited to share this gorgeous quilt with you, today!! Even though I’m behind in sharing other quilts I’ve quilted, I wanted to share this one that is fresh off my longarm before the holiday season is over.
The pattern is free with the Fat Quarter Shop Jelly Bar precut in the Poinsettia Plaza Collection of fabrics, which I couldn’t find available. Contact Fat Quarter Shop and see if they will give you a copy.
Or…here is a similar pattern by Laundry Basket Quilts go to: https://www.laundrybasketquilts.com/online-store/Christmas-Tree-PDF-download-p274316146 to get the PDF pattern.
Pat and Liz are sisters, Liz picks out different quilts and Pat helps her sew them together. They did an excellent job on this one!!
Pat suggested a colored thread, and I shared the tip from Kim Diehl that I learned a few years ago ago…to have the thread color be a little darker than the background so the quilting shows up. It’s an excellent way to showcase the design.
I used Omni threads in the Sesame Seeds #3008 from Superior Threads. https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-3008-sesame-seeds/p/134-02-3008
I also used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
We debated over a few different designs and in the end Liz chose Patricia Ritter’s and my NEWEST design Chantilly Snow, which is only available at Urban Elementz. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/chantilly-snow.html
It’s so exciting to use one of my designs for the first time!! I think it turned out beautifully.
I love the snowflakes swirling and dancing across the quilt.
Do you have a Christmas Tree quilt yet??

Nancy’s Midnight in the Garden Quilt
Isn’t this quilt amazing??!!! Nancy has made some pretty incredible quilts, and this is one of them.
This amazing quilt is the Midnight in the Garden Fig Tree 2023 block of the month quilt. Info about it is available here: https://store.figtreeandcompany.com/Midnight_in_the_Garden_BOM_p/2023_midnightgarden_bom.htm
I used my favorite cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
I gave Nancy a few panto options and she chose Wisteria by Patricia Ritter. It’s perfect for these fabrics!! Wisteria is available at Urban Elementz: https://www.urbanelementz.com/wisteria-3078.html
That center floral motif has a mixture of wool and Fig Trees darling fabrics, with more wool throughout.
More close ups on the quilty texture…
And the daring blocks.

Angie’s Loving Wishes Quilt
Angie makes the most darling baby quilts!!
This Loving Wishes quilt is by Shannon at Maple Cottage Designs. Here is a link to the pattern: https://www.maplecottagedesigns.com/product/loving-wishes-quilt-pattern/
If you didn’t notice there are hearts 💕 inside of those stars. So sweet!!
When I first saw this quilt I immediately thought of this panto design, it’s called Belladonna - border 1 and is by Hermione Agee and it’s available at Urban Elementz. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/belladonna-border-1.html
I used my favorite Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting by Winline Textiles.
I wish I knew what these darling fabrics are, so I could share them with you. I do know Angie uses fabrics from her stash sometimes from multiple lines.
I typically like to do the panto designs a little smaller, however the minky on the back could start to feel more stiff. I think these sweet Belladonna flowers dance beautifully across this quilt!!
Look at that cozy backing!! So soft.

Heidi’s Omigosh Quilt
Earlier this year I had the opportunity to custom quilt this incredible quilt that Heidi made!!! Those little squares are 1/2” big. I’m amazed at the beauty and complexity of this one.
The pattern is by Sue Garman and it’s called, Omigosh. The pattern is available here: https://www.comequilt.com/shop/c/p/Omigosh-Digital-x67416969.htm
This would be such a great scrap buster quilt!
I used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
Such a classic quilt, deserves a classic stipple. I love that is what Heidi requested. A stipple is one of those first designs to learn as you set out to start custom quilting. If you’re interested in getting started, I have just the right course for you. My Quilting It Freemotion course. It is available on my website, go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course Stippling is the first design I teach, with 9 other designs to follow.
I used my favorite cream Omni thread for the center and white thin border and a red coordinating thread for the two red borders.
I did ribbon candy, pebbles, and my swirly feathers…the pebbles and swirly feathers are also designs I teach in my Quilting It Freemotion course. https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course
Close up on the amazing piecing that Heidi did!!!
Below are the details Heidi shared on her instagram of this quilt!! It’s fun to see. If I made a quilt like this, I totally would count everything, too. Which I have done on other quilts that I’ve made that have tons of pieces. It’s fun to have all of those statistics.

Louise’s Pastel Stars Table Runner
I love it when a new client sends her friends or sisters to me, too! Thank you, Louise!
Louise sews in a group with some of my other clients and she started bringing me her projects this year, and two of her sisters have as well!! It’s fun to see their different tastes in fabric or patterns.
This fun table runner Louise made with the Pastel Stars table runner pattern by Mimi’s Quilts and More: https://mimisquiltsandmore.com/products/pastel-stars-table-runner
I used my favorite natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads and a scrap of 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

I have oodles of pictures to share in hopes that you can see the details more clearly. Here is the center, and all the borders or blocks build off from here.
Here are the left and right sides of the center block.
Below are the beautiful stars with the circles on the left side.
I used the Pyrex Stems panto from Julie Hirt, which is one of the few Kristan picked for me to choose from. Which I think turned out so fun, especially with all of the beautiful fabrics she used. Pyrex Stems can be found here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/577305907/pyrex-stems-longarm-quilting-digital
I also used my favorite cream Omni (3004) thread from Superior Threads to quilt it, and 4 oz bamboo batting from Winline Textiles.

Peace by Piece • Festival of Trees Quilt
A local quilt guild has been excitedly making several quilts to help with two local charities, one of which is the Festival of Trees. The Festival of Trees is a fundraising event the beginning of every December which supports Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. The amazing medical professionals at this hospital have helped a few of my niece and nephews. I love to give back to them, even in small ways. To find out more about the organization, to go: https://intermountainhealthcare.org/foundation/festival-of-trees
Two of my friends in this guild are quilting several of the quilts, so I offered to quilt one. The bright and happy dots are sure to cheer up whoever receives this quilt. I’m not sure if it will be donated to a child or auctioned off. Either way, I’m happy it’s on its way.
I quilted the quilt with the Soho panto design by Sarah Ann Myers, which can be found at Urban Elementz. https://www.urbanelementz.com/soho.html
I’m not sure what the quilt pattern is. It reminds me of a classic chain block with a simple square every other block.
I used my go to favorite Omni thread from Superior Threads, Natural White 3002. It blends so beautifully over every color. To try it out on your machine, go to: https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-3002-natural-white/p/134-02-3002
I’m a Superior Thread Ambassador, if you’d like 10% off your order, use code “ASTLEISHA”, which can’t be used with any other promotion.
The guild supplied some polyester batting which adds a fun little dimension to the quilt.
The quilt was pieced by Jan and will be bound by Joleene, both members of the guild. The fabrics are from Riley Blake.
Joleene also told me of a local need. There are so many kids and teens in our area, as well as other parts of the country, who have no blanket or quilt to sleep with and they’re sleeping on the floor. I encourage you to look for a place in your area to donate an extra quilt or two you may not be using. Let’s see if we can make a difference one quilt at a time!
Look at all those happy colors.
Thanks for stopping by. If you’re interested in having me quilt for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge
Happy quilting!! Leisha
