Isobel’s Disappearing Pinwheel Quilt
Are you looking for a fun quilt pattern that’s a twist on a classic simple block??? You’re in the right place.
Isobel made this beautiful Disappearing Pinwheel quilt. After googling it to find the pattern, I was assuming that Jenny from Missouri Star would have a blog post or video about it. It turns out she had several videos, one video for each block. But then I came across this other video that has 10 different variations of the disappearing pinwheel block. You’ll have to look on Missouri Stars YouTube channel if you would like to see Jenni‘s videos or do a google search. The video below has quite a few if not all of the blocks that Isobel used. Isobel’s blocks are bigger than the one in the video linked below. For bigger blocks start with 8” or 9” squares.
Isobel chose the Opal panto design, which is one of mine and Patricia Ritter’s. It’s available at Urban Elementz. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/opal.html It’s such a beautiful panto design that creates a lot of movement on the pinwheels.
I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads, it’s my go to color. Go to: https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-3002-natural-white/p/134-02-3002?show=Cones and don’t forget to use my non-affiliate code ASTLEISHA at checkout to get 15% off your order.
Here are a few of the different blocks. The one above might be my favorite, but the fabric is also part of what I love.
I’ve never seen the block above before.
Or the arrow block below. Watch the video I linked above to see how easy it is to create these blocks.
I used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles, it’s my favorite 8020 that I’ve quilted.
Loving the quilty texture!!
Especially when there is minky on the back. So cozy!!!
