Louise’s Christmas Serenade quilt

It’s that time of year when it’s time to start making your next Christmas quilt if you haven’t already started. This one is darling, made by Louise.

I searched high and low for a link to the pattern, which is called Christmas Serenade. Possibility from a Beginning Quilting series or book. I couldn’t find anything other than a short video on Instagram of someone having a quilt kit sent to them from a store in Arizona. But no pattern was listed. If you can find a flying geese pin wheel block, you might be in luck. Every other square is the background fabric, and finish it off with a scrappy square border. Here is a double flying geese pin wheel block that I found on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/655179681/flying-geese-pdf-quilt-block-pattern (this isn’t the pattern my client used…I couldn’t find her pattern)

The fabrics are from the Christmas at the Cabin, Art Gallery line.

Louise saw Patricia Ritter and my recently released Chantilly Snow panto, and wanted it on her quilt. I love the swirling snowflakes. Chantilly Snow is available at Urban Elementz, go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/chantilly-snow.html

This is a winter take on our original Chantilly panto, also available at Urban Elementz. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/chantilly.html

I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads to quilt it. Go to: https://www.superiorthreads.com/omni-3002-natural-white/p/134-02-3002?show=Cones …don’t forget to use my non-affiliate code ASTLEISHA at checkout for 15% off your order.

Look at that darling quilty texture!!

Louise wanted to try the 4 oz bamboo batting that I carry. It’s from Winline Textiles, and has the best drape and it’s sooo soft. It’s eco-friendly and does cost a little more than the 8020, but not much.

The backing is a cozy white minky, which coupled with the bamboo batting its extra soft.

Look at the quilty texture on the backing, too!! This is why I love solid minky!!

Thanks for stopping by! If you’re interested in having me quilt for you check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. Go to: https://calendly.com/quiltingit/edgetoedge

Happy quilting!! Leisha 💕
