Noreen’s In The Forest baby quilt

Noreen made this adorable baby quilt for one of her new grandsons, so sweet huh?!?!?!

The panel is called In The Forest by Riley Blake. I don’t know if there is a pattern for it. I couldn’t find one when I searched.

I used my favorite natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads, and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles in Ogden Utah.

When I first saw this quilt, I wanted to quilt my Fort design on it!! It turned out so great!! I’ve seen this design on several quilts, and some of the quilter make it smaller than the suggested 4” height. Have fun with adjusting the height size when you set up the design on your machine. Fort©️ is available in my shop.

These blocks are a simple 9 patch with a border around them.

How cute is that little guy??? Panels are great! They add some fun designs to a quilt without having to do appliqué.

Fort adds so much fun texture!

I hope you’re having a great week and have gotten some sewing in.

If you’d like to have one of your quilts quilted, I have lots of edge to edge openings. Contact me or send me an email at: quiltingit@gmail.com

Thank you for stopping by! -leisha

Abby’s Aggie Quilt

Hello there! I have a fun quilt to share with you. Awhile back a friend asked if I could make a quilt like this for her to give her mom. I had too much quilting to do, so I recommend a friend of both of ours, Abby from Orange Peel Sews. Abby whipped up this quilt, I quilted it, and Cami gave it to her mom…and I heard she loves it! Team work!!

There is no pattern to this quilt, that’s the amazing thing about Abby!! She just figures it all out, and it’s great. We all live near each other in a college town, and as you can imagine there are some pretty diehard sports fans, which makes this quilt perfect!!

Abby was able to find some Utah State fabric and even a letterman A…for the Aggies! Which I think is a fun touch.

Cami requested my Southwest quilting design, for the quilting, which I think adds some pretty great texture.

I used my favorite Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles out of Ogden Utah.

What is your favorite local sports team? Have you made a quilt to take with you to the games?

Check out that awesome texture on the minky backing!!!

If you have any quilts that are ready for quilting, send them my way. I’d love to quilt for you! Check out my Longarm Quilting Services page, and then email at quiltingit@gmail.com

Thank you!!! • leisha

Kathy’s Timber Quilt

Hi Friends,

Happy weekend!! I hope your having a wonderful day. I have another fun quilt to share with you, and this one is fresh off the longarm. Yes, it’s quilted. I’ll get to that in a moment.

Kathy made this fun Timber lumberjack quilt for her grandson. The pattern is by Buttermilk Basin.

First close ups…that beard. I love quilting freehand texture in beards, hair, fur, or other things along those lines. I’ve quilted several Santa quilts or pillows over the years, so beards have become a fun thing for me to quilt. That mustache has some great textures, too. I did quilt around the nose piece. Kathy requested no quilting in the face or hands. She is putting buttons on the face for the eyes.

Why is it so hard the see the quilting, you may be thinking? I used an Omni Medium Gray thread, color number 3024, from Superior Threads. It was a perfect match, and blends great on all the fabrics. I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

Now let’s talk about the quilting. I quilted a freehand small stipple in the background, as well as a variety of different lines in the lumberjack.

As you can see here, I quilted 45° angled lines 1” apart in the shirt, with a vertical 1/2” line in the overalls.

I quilted a triple pinstripe in the axe, with a softer line on the handle. The boots have angled quilted lines 3/4” apart, and the cuffs are pinstripes.

The tree has some fun freehand wood grain in the blocks, starting at the top and working it’s way to the bottom.

One of my favorite parts of the quilting, were the triple pinstripes in the inner border. Which I did with a Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. If you’re interested in starting freehand or freemotion quilting with your longarm, check out my Quilting It Freemotion course in my shop. I teach 10 different freemotion quilting designs, starting with Stippling and going through the basics…loops, swirls, wood grain, and so on, including two of my personal designs Overlapping Circles and Overlapping Lines. Check them out!!

Such a fun quilt to quilt!! Hope you enjoyed being here, and seeing all the quilting details! Thanks for coming by. Happy quilting! • leisha

Denise’s Pollinate Quilt

Hello Friends, I hope your summer is off to a great start!! Mine has been great. A few days ago my niece was born…and I still need to share with you her baby quilt that my mom and I made. I’ve also been running a lot, which I’m grateful to be able to do again. I’ve challenged myself to run 100 miles in 3 months, in order to be more consistent. I was doing great with less than a 1/4th to go when I got a little injury from playing volleyball with friends. I’m hoping another week off, I’ll be ready to start back up. I’ve also been golfing with some friends a few times, which has been fun! I’m loving the warm weather and sunshine. You’ll have to comment below and tell me what you love to do during your summer months.

I’ve been talking with some quilty friends about life/work balance. It’s so important for me to have balance. To take care of me, and fill my life with a variety of different things. It fills my bucket. Which in turn helps me enjoy my job even more.

For instance…check out this amazing Pollinate quilt that Denise made!!! Yes, it was pieced with the english paper piecing method. Which means, it was pieced by hand. I’ve been working on a EPP quilt too, so I definitely appreciate all the work that went into this incredible quilt.

This amazing pattern is called Pollinate by Kitty Wilkin from Night Quilter. I loved the variety of fabrics Denise used!

Here are a couple of close up pics of the quilting when the quilt was still on the machine.

Another progress pic.

I love all the pops of color!! You may be surprised, but I used a Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads on the entire quilt, and my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles out of Ogden Utah. The thread blends beautifully!

When I first saw this quilt, and she told me she wanted it quilted custom, I was so excited but unsure how I was going to quilt it. I found a couple pictures of one that my friend Teresa from Quilting is My Bliss quilted, and that gave me some great inspiration.

Because there are so many similar shapes, I couldn’t quilt everything the same. It was fun adding swirls with a hook to the center flower, and also my loopy diamonds to the very center star. I actually added the loopy diamonds to the 5 pointed stars throughout the quilt, as you can see below. That became my favorite design to quilt on this quilt. I quilt them freehand. I also love all the simple lines quilted throughout the quilt, like the lines in the star below.

I used my favorite Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple to quilt all the lines.

I love the texture that multiple lines give to a quilt. Simple beautiful texture!

When quilting a quilt like this, I like to stitch in the ditch ever so slightly to get to the next block or in this case the next epp piece, which is a huge time saver and I save a lot more thread that way as well.

Check out this incredible backing fabric. Perfect for this quilt!!

Such a fun quilt to quilt!!

Along with the Edge rulers, I also used my 4” Circle2 machine quilting circle ruler to quilt the bee body. My Circle2 rulers come in a set of 6, and the range in size from 2”-13”. They are made in America with 1/4” high quality acrylic, and come in green and clear.

What is your favorite part of this quilt? Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a delightful weekend. • Leisha

Abby’s Half Square Triangle Quilts

I always love Abby’s pattern and fabric selection, when it comes to her quilts! She’s a master at it.

Abby made these two modern half square triangle quilts for her teen sons. I love everything about them.

There is no pattern. If I remember right the half square triangles are about 7”or maybe even 8” big.

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting on both quilts, and a tan thread on both as well.

I used my Lined 1/2” quilting design on both of these quilts. They both turned out fabulous!! Lines like these are perfect on every quilt Abby brings. It’s what she loves, can you blame her? I can’t.

Next up, the orange and navy version. As you can see the layouts are a little different.

Have you made a large 1/2 squared triangle quilt? I haven’t, and I want to now!

The fun thing about doing large blocks like these, is seeing more the fabric prints vs when you cut the pieces of fabric so small you don’t get to see much of the print.

Adding this one to my list of future makes.

Quilting this design can be tricky, because of going back and forth and thread breaks. Watch this Instagram video and see if it helps.

Such awesome texture!

Thanks for coming by. Happy quilting!! • leisha

Laura Lee’s Hawaiian Quilt

This quilt has so pretty amazing color and texture!

Laura Lee was given these fabrics by a friend of hers…who fortunately is also a friend of mine. The fabrics were found in Hawaii by Chris. Chris made several quilts, which I quilted. Because Laura Lee sews, she was able to make herself one.

Laura Lee wanted more of a Hawaiian design, and I think Patricia Ritter and my Cedar design was a great choice! It looks beautiful with the leafy patterns in the fabric, and it creates the most perfect texture. Do you have a quilt that could use some Cedar on it?

I used a bamboo batting, my favorite for sure, and a natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads.

To make it even better, yes…there is aqua minky on the backing.

Now, look at that fun texture!

Do you love minky???

I also quilted this baby quilt for Susan. I used Patricia Ritter and my Soda Pop design to quilt it.

I also used cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles, and the natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads.

Thanks for coming by!! Happy sewing!

Alyssa’s Baby Quilts

I met Alyssa years ago. She used to longarm at a local quilt shop. She since got married, had a little boy, and is trying to adopt. She made several quilts and went to a show to sell them to help with adoption expenses. These are some of her quilts!

I love the simple modern look to these baby quilts/throws. The quilting texture is so so good.

I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting on all of the quilts.

This is my Kapari quilting design. It’s simple yet adds so much fun texture. Kapari is available in my shop.

It’s so exciting for me to see a design I create come alive on a quilt!!!

If you ever need a quick gift or want to make yourself a throw, find a few fabrics you like and make a quilt.

I used Soho by Sarah Ann Myers from Urban Elementz to quilt the star quilt below.

I used Cross from Jess at the Longarm League to quilt the next stripe throw. I love love love the texture! Look at the minky backing.

I used Donut Connection, also by Jess. This is such fabulous texture!

I hope from this post you can see how simple quilting designs can add so much wonderful texture to a quilt!! Happy quilting! • leisha

Lisa’s Farm Sweet Farm Quilt

So excited to share Lisa’s amazing Farm Sweet Farm quilt with you!! The pattern and fabrics are by Lori Holt.

Lisa reach out and requested some custom quilting on her amazing quilt, and I totally agree. A quilt like this, deserves the attention to detail. I wish my pictures were better, they definitely don’t do this quilt justice.

Whenever I quilt a quilt like this, I try to mix the curves with the hard lines, they play so great together. I also don’t want to make it too cutesy.

I started off with 1/2” lines in the border. Check out the video I posted on my Instagram to see me quilting it. I also quilted the thin inner border with a pebble. There is a video for that as well. I kept the quilting in the animals bodies pretty simple with various different lines at different angles.

More and more lines throughout the trees, barn, and windmill. I love using Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple.

The farmers , tractor, animals, and plants all got a little bit of quilting.

I love the lines details in these three trees. 1/2” on point lines, double pinstripes, and a plaid…are just so fun together.

I also decided to quilt my Overlapping Circles design in the background, and I love how it makes all the appliqués pop!! I quilt my Overlapping Circles freehand, here is a video of me quilting this quilt. If you’d like to learn how to freemotion quilt, my Overlapping Circles is one of the designs I teach in my Quilting It Freemotion course. You can pick and choose from 10 different designs, or buy the whole course. They are available in my shop.

Quilting around buttons can be difficult. That’s why I had to rethink the quilting on the blades of the windmill. I think it turned out so great! Plus, I was loving the look for 4 pinstripes in the cloud.

The barn got some 1/2” lines in a variety of different angles.

I quilted all the star blocks the same. I used my 2” Circle2™ rulers to quilt all the curves in the smaller star blocks.

My Circle2 rulers come in a set of 6, which gives you 12 different sizes of circles. Ranging from 2” to 13”. As you can see the 2” ruler, has an 8” circle on the outside. Below the 4” ruler has a 10” circle on the outside. For more info on my rulers, check them out in my shop.

- Design Patent D875,574 -

I used the 4” Circle2™ to quilt the curves in the star blocks that are in the four corners.

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles, and Natural White Omni thread to quilt the entire quilt.

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me share about the quilting on this quilt as I was quilting it. If you’re interested in following along, and you don’t quite yet. Click here: @leishakaye

Jan’s Ugly Sweater Christmas Tree Skirt

Hi Friends,
Have I got a fun tree skirt to share with you!!! Jan made this ugly sweater Star Wars themed tree skirt for her son and daughter in law. Yes, she fussy cut the star wars fabrics for the sweaters. The Original Ugly Christmas Sweater paper pieced pattern is by Kerry Goulder from Kid Giddy. Jan modified the pattern to work as a tree skirt, by making it bigger and wider.

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline and a natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads.

Three skirts can be interesting to quilt. I always have the opening at the bottom, in the center. (This picture is taken on an angle.) By having the opening at the bottom it helps me lay the tree shirt flat.

I used my Southwest design for the quilting. It added such a fun texture with all those angles. Which I think is cool with all those fun Star Wars fabrics. Southwest is available in my shop.

Have you made a tree skirt before? I haven’t, but it sounds fun.

Jan said the diameter is 51.5”…if you’re curious about the size.

Thanks for coming by!! Happy quilting… Leisha

Debbie’s 30 Stars Quilt

Hello there,
I have an amazing quilt to share with you. Debbie and her mom made this beautiful 30 Stars quilt, which was designed by Mary Etherington and Connie Tesene of Country Threads for Country Living magazine. Can you see all 30 stars? The amazing thing…this is a not very big wall hanging.

Debbie cut out all the pieces, and her mom sewed it together. That’s great teamwork!

Debbie and I were in the same sewing group years ago when I started quilting. Although we don’t sew together anymore, I have fond memories of those days and being associated with women who have become so dear to me.

When I saw the log cabin blocks, I knew that I wanted to quilt some feather wreaths.

Here is a short video of me quilting the wreaths with my 3” Circle2™ ruler. I also used my 2”, 3”, and 4” Circle2™ rulers on other curves throughout the quilt. If you’ve followed my custom quilting over the years, you know that I love mixing curves and lines. It creates the most amazing texture. My favorite straight rulers are from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple.

I used a single layer of Hobbs wool, it’s a dreamy addition which adds the right amount of puff. I used a tan Omni thread from Superior Threads.

I love seeing all the textures play off of one another. What is your favorite part?

Another view…

And, the backing! I sure love what I do.

Here is a look at my 3”/9” Circle2 ruler™. I have 6 rulers in my Circle2™ ruler set, and from those 6 rulers you get 12 different sizes of circles. Ranging from 2” up to 13”.

- Ruler Design Patent D875,574 -

My Circle2 rulers™ are available in clear or green high quality 1/4” acrylic and are made in America. Let me know if you have any questions.

Laurie’s Yankee Doodle Dandy Quilt

Hello Friends,
I hope you’re having a great weekend. With summer coming up, I have a fun quick quilt to share with you.

Laurie made this Yankee Doodle Dandy Quilt for a friend. The pattern is by Holly from Maker Valley. It’s a great stash buster, if you have lots of navy, reds, and white/cream fabrics.

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline, and a cream Omni thread from Superior Threads.

Laurie wanted a wavy line, and Patricia Ritter’s Good Vibrations is a perfect design! It’s available at Urban Elementz.

I hope you have some fun sewing planned in the near future. • Leisha

Dot’s Tahoe Quilt

Hello Friends,
I hope you’re having a great week! I have a fun southwest quilt to share with you.

Dot made this beautiful Tahoe quilt and the pattern is by Cluck Cluck Sew.

We talked about several designs, and even the possibility of quilting it custom. More on that in a minute. I quilted Patricia Ritter and my Morocco design on it, and I love the texture it created for this quilt!! Morocco is available at Urban Elementz.

Custom quilting vs. edge to edge quilting…I’m sure I could have figured out some fun geometric design to quilt in the quilt block itself, however quilting the background in a block that’s offset like this is difficult. The angles just make it tricky. Some quilts are better quilted edge to edge. Edge to edge quilting can enhance the quilt, and still give it fun texture and personality.

If I remember right, I used Hobbs wool batting on this, and my favorite Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads.

A couple more close ups of this fun quilting texture!!

Hope you have a great week!! Happy quilting… • Leisha

I used my favorite natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads, and a scrap of Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.

I used the Feliz Navidad border by Patricia Ritter and Natalie Gorman from Urban Elementz to quilt it. It’s such a fun simple design!! If you’re looking for a holly berry design, definitely go get this one.

I didn’t know until now that the name of this pattern was Holly Berries, and yet the design looks perfect with the fabrics and overall design.

Lisa’s National Parks Quilt

The panel is National Parks Wilderness Wonders Panel, by Anderson Design Group for Riley Blake Designs. So fun, huh?!?!

I used Malachite by Patricia Ritter to quilt it. Which I think is the perfect design for this quilt.

I used my favorite Natural White thread from Superior Threads, and 8020 batting from Winline out of Ogden Utah.

Lisa added a fun piano keys border, which picks up all those fun colors. I love it!!

Do you love to visit national parks? If so, which is your favorite? What’s on your must see list?

Lisa backed the quilt in this beautiful green minky!! That texture is sooo good!

Chelsea’s Selkie Quilt

Hello there,
I have an amazing quilt to share with you. Chelsea had these fun bright Kaffe fabrics, and I couldn’t think of a better way to use them than with a metallic greenish back woven background fabric. It literally sparkles. The pattern is called Selkie by Shelley Cavanna from Coras Quilts.

I was looking through designs that I have, and thought this Ikat design by Patricia Ritter at Urban Elementz, would be perfect for this quilt. Side note…because of its density, this can be a tricky design to quilt, because quilts shrink when they are quilted. I didn’t notice it until I started computerized quilting. The denser the design, the more it’s going to shrink. It’s possible, but requires some adjustments as I quilt. It has a pretty incredible look, so it’s worth the effort. Patricia has a few Ikat options.

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles out of Ogden Utah.

I wish you could see the shimmer in that background fabric.

I asked Chelsea what she thought of a variegated thread, and she was all for it!! I used my best matching Omni-V thread, and I think it turned out great!! Color number 9044 Zumba.

So fun to see the colored stitches.

The overall texture is just too good!!

And of course the backing texture is fabulous, too!

Thank you for stopping by!! Happy quilting! • Leisha

Linda’s Patchwork Memory Quilt

Linda’s memory quilt is such a special one!! She made it with her dad’s clothes after he passed away. I love that she added the navy strips, too. Linda came up with the pattern layout.

Linda requested bamboo batting, which is a wonderful choice. It makes for a softer quilt with a better drape. Have you ever felt bamboo batting before? It’s super duper soft. I currently carry the 4 oz Winline bamboo, but soon I’m going to have the 6 oz available. Which is a little loftier. I’m so excited!! I actually have a quilt of mine I’m waiting to quilt until I get the 6 oz.

Linda wanted lines quilted, and she plans to go back and do some half quilting between the rows.

I actually have four different widths for my digital Lined designs. 1”, 3/4”, 1/2”, and 1/4”. I have them available individually or in a bundle, in my shop.

I used an off white Omni thread from Superior threads.

Such a beautiful quilt!! This makes my job so much more meaningful.

The lines on the back!! Love it! Thank you for checking out Linda’s quilt!! Have a happy day! • Leisha

Barbara’s Autumn Abundance Table Runner

Hi Friends,
I have a quick runner to share with you today. It’s a fun one!!

Barbara made this for a church fundraiser dinner for the youth that she goes to church with. Amazing of her, right?!?!?!

Barbara wanted simple custom quilting. I used my 3” Circle2™ machine quilting circle ruler to quilt the curves in the star. My Circle2™ rulers are available in my shop. I also used an edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple for the cross hatching and lines in the pumpkins. The background quilting is my freemotion Grass design. Caroline’s Wool Quilt

This quilt screams texture!! It turned out sooo great!

Caroline made this quilt with wool which is the grayish green fabric, denim for the sashing, and some flannel dotted squares…if I remember right.

She requested flowers in all the squares, and something that weaves in the sashing, similar to what I quilted. I love how it turned out!!!

I used a daisy block that came free on my machine, and then Even Simpler Cables by Linda Thielfoldt for the curvy woven lines in the sashing. Both of which I had to custom fit to each square and rectangle.

I used Omni Natural White for the thread, and Winline’s 8020 for the batting.

Such fun textures!!

And, look at this minky backing!!

Solid minky is the best!! The quilting creates a unique texture. Love it!!!

I also love it when backings look this amazing!!! It’s what a little quilting can do.

Thanks for stopping by!! Happy quilting… Leisha

• Lynne’s Quilts •

Last year my friend Molly started a sewing group. She invited me and several other ladies that she had sewn with before, and we had lots of fun!! We actually sewed in the basement classroom of our favorite local quilt shop a couple of days a month. We enjoyed laughing, snacking, sewing, and meeting new friends. That’s where I met Lynne. She was busy sewing one day and listening to my good friend Christy and I talk about longarm quilting. Afterwards, she said…I’d like you to quilt a couple of quilts for me. I told her I was happy to do so. She still needed to finish the borders and backing. Fast forward a few months, and Lynne asked me to meet her and her husband to get her quilts, on their way out of town. I did. Sadly, that was the last time I saw her. Lynne had a compromised immune system and unfortunately got Covid. She never recovered. I had finished quilting her quilts while she was in the hospital, so her husband picked them up, and one of her sewing friends bound them…all in hopes she would be able to recover and enjoy her beautiful work. She passed away before ever seeing them done. I sure hope she’s smiling down from heaven, and so happy with how they turned out. In loving memory of sweet Lynne, I share with you her last two quilts. Quilts I’m grateful I had the privilege of quilting for her. 💙

Ironically, both of these quilt patterns are about love. I hope her husband feels her love, when he’s using them.

This first quilt is an XOXO quilt made with a traditional snowball block. There are so many free tutorials out there, use google to find one that works for you. These blocks were pretty big, maybe like 8”.

Lynne planned on putting these quilts on two different guest beds, possibly in the same room. I love a great navy and cream quilt!! So beautiful!

I used a cream Omni thread for the quilting and my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline.

I suggested a few designs, and Lynne chose Patricia Ritter and my Opal design for both quilts. Opal is available at Urban Elementz. Which I think is beautiful and classy.

Lynne’s other quilt is the Moda Love quilt, which is a free pattern. It’s a fun quick pattern. I made the mid sized one, and put together 4 blocks. It’s a really lovely pattern.

I love the scrappy look to it!!

The quilty texture is sooo good!

Here is a great look at how nicely the cream threads blend over those deep navy’s. Love it!!!

My job definitely has some tender hard moments. Losing a friend is never easy. Love to Lynne, and her wonderful family!! 🤍

Kristan's Esther's Bloomers Quilt

Hi Friends,
Oh, do I have a gorgeous quilt to share with you today!!! This beautiful quilt was made by Kristan, and it is the Esther’s Bloomers pattern by Kim Diehl which Kristan did as a block of the month with Fat Quarter Shop. Amazing huh?!?!?! The fabrics are Esther’s Shirting’s and are designed by Kim as well.

Kristan requested custom quilting and 8020 cotton poly blend batting. The rest was up to me. It’s so fun to turn on the quilting machine, pull out my rulers and start quilting. I actually used five of my different Circle2 rulers™, the 2”, 3”, 4”, 6”, and 8” circle for the variety of different curves throughout this quilt. My Circle2™ rulers are available in 12 different sizes, with two sizes per ruler. Which means every set comes with 6 rulers. My Circle2™ rulers are made in America from 1/4” high quality acrylic. For more information on them, check out this blog post. There is a picture at the bottom of this post of my 2”/8” ruler. Notice the 2” on the inside and the 8” on the outside. I also offer them in either green or clear. The green are great on lighter fabrics, which helps me see the lines better. However, the clear are just as great!

I quilted all of the lines with Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. My favorite straight rulers!! It’s fun to use rulers and create a variety of different textures, with only a simple line or curve.

Look at all of those amazing borders!! Kristan did a beautiful job!!

I used cream Omni thread from Superior Thread, on the entire quilt!!

And, just because I can…here are some more pictures. I love adding freehand pebbles in the midst of all of the straight lines and angles.

I love the orange peel petals in the darker flying geese, which I did with the 3” Circle2™ ruler, and then the double lines on each side in the lighter flying geese. It’s great to have that mix of scale and texture.

Here is a close up on a couple of the blocks.

In the block below, I used my 2” Circle2™ ruler for the curves inside the center of the blue star, and the 3” Circle2™ ruler for the curves on the outside of the star.

Can you see how great the cream thread blends so great on all of the different fabrics? I prefer lighter threads on darker fabrics, than darker threads on lighter fabrics. I personally think it helps tie the quilt together is a whole.

All the quilting textures on the borders, compliment the large center block nicely.

Below is the green 2”/8” ruler that I mentioned above. The rulers are 2.5” wide to make it easier to handle as you’re quilting.

Below is all 6 of the clear Circle2™ stacked up ready to ship out.

- Design Patent D875,574 -

I know that I didn’t go into detail about where I used each Circle2 ruler, because unless you were quilting this same quilt the same way, it’s not going to matter. I did use the 3” and 4” Circle2™ rulers, for most of the curves throughout the quilt. Those are my go to sizes!! When I know that I’m going to quilt a curve, I hold a couple of the rulers up to the block and see which one fits the best, to give me the desired look I’m going for.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope the quilt and quilting has inspired you!! If you’d like to have me quilt for you, please check out my Longarm Quilting Services page and send me an email at quiltingit@gmail.com Take care…Leisha
