The pattern is by Jill Howarth from Riley Blake, and itβs free!!! Itβs called The Castle. Go here to get yourself a copy: https://www.rileyblakedesigns.com/assets/images/freepatterns/quiltpatterns/BeautyAndTheBeastFreePattern.pdf
Itβs using the Beauty and the Beast fabric line, also by Jill from Riley Blake. So darling!!!
Julie chose the Belladonna panto by Hermione Agee, which is available at Urban Elementz. I have the border #1 version, which is what I used on this quilt. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/belladonna-border-1.html
The roses are perfect for this quilt!!
I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

Louiseβs Heartsy Quilt
Excited to share this super darling baby quilt that I quilted for Louise.
The pattern is called Heartsy and is by Allison from Cluck Cluck Sew. The pdf pattern is available here: https://cluckclucksewshop.com/collections/pdf-patterns/products/heartsy-205-pdf-pattern
Louise wanted light custom, especially in the hearts. The backing is minky, so I definitely agree.
I quilted a double echo inside the hearts using an Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. In fact, all the lines were done with her Edge rulers. Go to: https://www.thequiltedpineapple.com/shop/ to get yourself one.
I quilted my freehand Overlapping Circles behind the hearts, which is one of the designs that I teach in my Quilting It Freemotion course. Go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course to learn all about it. If youβre interested in learning to quilt freemotion, join me!!!
A close up on those Overlapping Circles. Itβs one of my favorite background fillers.
In the surrounding squares I quilted a simple x in the small squares and a x with petals in the bigger squares. I used my 4β Circle2 machine quilting circle ruler for the petals. My Circle2 rulers can be found in my shop. Go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop
I used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles and Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads to quilt it.
If youβre interested in having me quilt for you, check out my edge to edge quilting calendar and schedule a day. https://calendly.com/quiltingit

Lisaβs Baby Quilt
I love a simple patchwork quilt that shows off the fabrics, like this fun dinosaur print that Lisa found which goes great in her grandsonβs nursey. Lisa always finds fun coordinating fabrics with fun prints and textures. Like the woven fabrics that youβll see below in the close ups.
My mom and I love to make baby quilts for family when they have their first baby, and weβve learned that some people prefer a simple patchwork quilt over the ones with blocks or a pattern. I love patchwork quilts!! I made one last year for myself. Never underestimate the simple look of big squares. These squares are around 8β, if I remember right.
Lisa saw one of my newer panto designs and requested that for the quilting. This is Squared Rounded, which is a new take on my Squared panto design. The corners are roundedβ¦which Iβve been wanting to do for awhile. Both designs are available in my shop. I love how it turned out!! Quilting certainly makes a quilt come alive.
Lisa is like me and LOVES the bamboo batting!! My personal favorite. I put the 4 oz. bamboo from Winline Textiles in this quilt, and used Natural White Omni Thread from Superior Threads.
Look at all those lovely textured fabricsβ¦
And off course the quilty texture!!! LOVE!!

Kathyβs Moda Cake Mix Quilt
Excited to share this beautiful quilt with you that Kathy made!!
The pattern is one of the Moda Cake Mix Recipes, itβs the first block on recipe number 4, by Miss Rosieβs Quilt Co.
Without any sashing its fun to see all the additional designs and shapes from the block being right next to one another.
We used Diagonal Plaid by Patricia Ritter for the panto, which looks great with these blocks and fabrics. Diagonal Plaid is available at Urban Elementz.
I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton/poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
If youβre interested in having me quilt edge to edge for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day.
Happy quilting!! Leisha
Lisaβs Exploding Hearts Quilt
How darling is Lisaβs quilt?!?!!! What I first saw it I was amazed at the placement of each triangle that literally looked like it was bursting from the heart.
The pattern is called Exploding Hearts by Slice of Pi Quilts. Itβs such a fun pattern!!
Lisa was excited about variegated thread, so we went with an Omni-V thread that looks perfect with the fabrics she chose. I also used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
Lisa went to the βQuilting Design Optionsβ section on my website and picked out her design ahead of time. Did you know that I have several designs for you to choose from? Click here to check it out: https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-design-options
She chose Patricia Ritter and my Villa in Love design, which is available at Urban Elementz.
Here is a close up on that fun variegated thread.
I love the hearts and loops dancing around the quilt.

Happy quilting!! Leisha
Nancyβs Howdy Christmas Quilt
Nancy made a couple of these fun Howdy Christmas quilts and I quilted them just before Christmas.
The Howdy Christmas fabrics are by Deborah Edwards and Northcott.
I used a light grey Omni thread from Superior Threads. I also used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
We decided on Patricia Ritter and my Kindling panto design for the quilting. Which is the perfect texture for these cowboy quilts. Kindling is available at Urban Elementz, go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/kindling.html
Here is a close up on the wood grain texture in the quilting design.
If you have a cowboy or cowgirl in your life, grab this panel while itβs still available. Do a google search for Howdy Christmas panel, and you should see several options. (Itβs March 2024 when I searched)

Lisaβs Take Heart Quilt
How sweet is this quilt?!?! Itβs almost like a log cabin block.
The pattern is called Take Heart by Modern Domestic, and itβs free!! Go here for all the details: https://moderndomesticpdx.com/free-take-heart-quilt-block-pattern/
Lisa paired the heart block with a solid square every other block to spread out the heart blocks, which I love!!
I suggest Patricia Ritter and my Cupid panto design for the quilting, and Lisa said yes!! I love the soft swirly curves with the hearts and all the negative space.
Cupid is available at Urban Elementz, go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/cupid.html
I used a light grey Omni thread from Superior Threads. Omni is my favorite, my machine stitches beautifully with it.
I used 4oz bamboo batting, which is Lisaβs favorite. I can see why, bamboo is soft and cuddly, as well as eco friendly and the fold lines arenβt as prominent as they are with cotton or 8020 batting.
Close up!
The Cupid texture is sooo good, but waitβ¦
Can you see the pink minky backing???
Whenever my clients want minky to back their quilts with, I hope is the solid minky. Who needs added texture from the minky when the quilting does a beautiful job!!! Itβs one of my favorite things to see the quilty texture in the soft cuddly minky.
Look at all that goodness!!
If youβre interested in having me quilt for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit
Happy Quilting!! Leisha
Lisaβs Fall Breeze Quilt
Love this amazing quilt I got to quilt for Lisa at the end of last year.
The pattern is by Vanessa from V&Co and is called Fall Breeze. Go to: https://vanessachristenson.com/product/fall-breeze-ombre-quilt-pdf-pattern/
I love the chambray grey background fabric, Vanessaβs ombrΓ© fabrics shine!!!
I used Patricia Ritter and my Breeze panto design, which turned out so great!!! The leaves look like theyβre swirling around in the wind. Breeze is available at Urban Elementz, go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/breeze.html
I used a grey Omni thread from Superior Threads and bamboo batting from Winline Textiles. Their bamboo is divine!
I love the quilting texture in all of that negative space.
Lisa used a brushed flannel for the backing, and it was so cozy when it was done.

I love that she picked my designs for her quilts, especially this one. I havenβt quilted it in awhile.
Another close up!!
Love these Gingham Gardens fabrics.
Lastly, this is the first quilt that Ashley made. I love it!!!
The pattern is called Fat Eighth Fruitcake by Kimberly from the Fat Quarter Shop, and itβs FREE. Go to: https://www.fatquartershop.com/free-quilt-patterns/free-fat-eighth-bundle-quilt-patterns/fat-eighth-fruitcake-quilt?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw48-vBhBbEiwAzqrZVC4GP9tEUUQgirf8qMk4tD8h2VQWlwgV4moDC_uE0xfvPPSBkw-psBoCtJUQAvD_BwE

Deniseβs Momβs Cross-stitch Quilt
My friend Denise texted me a picture of this incredible quilt that she made using all the cross stitching her mom did and asked what we could do for the quilting. For starters I was in awe!! Look at all of those quilts perfectly stitched in each square.
Iβm not sure what the pattern is for the cross-stitch. Denise just figured out the sashingβ¦sheβs amazing! She did put interfacing behind each block.
Back to the quilting we talked about me doing light custom, because I was leery of quilting on the cross-stitch and I didnβt want to take away from all her momβs amazing work.
I started by quilting in the ditch on the inside border of each block. Then I quilted a swirly feather in each colored border. I knew I wanted to do the curved design in the sashingβ¦which Iβve done several times before, it my favorite way to quilt sashingβ¦but itβs definitely tricky when the blocks arenβt square. I pulled out my Circle2 rulers and figured out which two to use. I used the 7β on the sides and the 10β on the top and bottom. Youβll see below the 7β circle is on the inside of the ruler, on the 4β/10β ruler the 10β is on the outside. That means there are two different sizes of circles on each ruler. My Circle2 rulers can be found in my shop at: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop
I created these rulers back in 2018 because there was nothing like them and I desperately needed a circle ruler set. The circles range in size from 2β to 13β and are made from 1/4β high quality acrylic in America.
For the xβs in the corners I used an Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. I also quilted in the ditch around the little 1/2β square and strips to accentuate them with the xβs surrounding them. Together the overall design frames each cross-stitch block beautifully.
You may be thinking, what about leaving those blocks un-quilted, doesnβt the batting need to be quiltedβ¦yes!!! Awhile back Denise had me custom quilting the sashing on a quilt and she went back and hand quilted part of it. I suggested she do the same with her momβs quilt. She did! Little stitches around little parts in each block. I know battings have recommended sizes for how close the stitching should be so it doesnβt bunch up weird when itβs washed. I personally donβt like anything over 4β square, but I understand when something needs βlessβ quilting. Hand quilting was the perfect solution in this case.
I used a cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
Itβs so fun for me to be apart of quilts like this!! The end result makes me so happy!
If youβre interested in having me quilt edge to edge for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day. https://calendly.com/quiltingit

Heidiβs Simple Addition Quilt
When this beautiful quilt arrived I was in love with the colors and fabrics.
The pattern is called Simple Addition by Allison from Cluck Cluck Sew. Go here to get the PDF: https://cluckclucksewshop.com/collections/pdf-patterns/products/simple-addition-pdf-only
I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
I used Pearce by Keryn Emmerson which is available at Urban Elementz. https://www.urbanelementz.com/pearce.html Itβs such a classy design, and it looks beautiful with all these fabrics.
Hopefully you can see the swirl with a hook and the circles. One of my favorites!!
Designs like these tend to soften all the hard lines in the quilt pattern, too.
If youβre looking for a great plus quilt, this is a great one!!
Thanks for being apart of my quilty journey!! If youβre interested in having me quilt for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit

Mariaβs Into The Deep Quilt
If you follow me on instagram @leishakaye then you might have seen this incredible quilt on my machine this week!
Maria and her daughter Mary each made one, Maryβs will be quilted like Mariaβs next. Itβs fun to have twinning quilts!!
This is the Into The Deep pattern that was an exclusive pattern taught by Tula Pink herself on a cruise back in 2018. Unfortunately, I canβt find a pattern to link. Of course these are Tulaβs gorgeous fabrics as well.
When I was brainstorming how to quilt Maria and Maryβs quilts, I had the thought to add some Graffiti style quilting between the squares. Which I think goes perfectly with Tulaβs fabrics. Glad they were game!!
I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly Winline Textiles batting.
These are close ups of some of my favorite elements. Graffiti Quilting allows me to make stuff up as I go. Below I love the long skinny hooked leaf with the scalloped inside. Above, the simple leaf with the circles feather tip. There are many other fun elements just like these throughout the quilt. Check out my instagram for a video I posted of this quilt.
In the squares I quilted a simple x and then echoed the lines 1β outside the center x. I used the 12β Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. Go to: https://www.thequiltedpineapple.com/shop/
If youβre a quilter, have you ever tried Graffiti Quilting? Do you want to?
Karlee Porter who is the mastermind behind Graffiti Quilting is teaching her 10th Anniversary Master Class this fall, and sheβs given me a coupon code for you to join us!!! LeAnnβs Quilts
My friend LeAnn has been sewing some pretty incredible quilts lately, and Iβm excited to share them with youβ¦
Gorgeous, right?!?! This is the Modern Farmhouse quilt by Amanda Niederhauser, and itβs in her More Playful Precuts book, available on Amazon. I love the colors and fabrics that LeAnn used. Itβs so soft and beautiful!
I sent a few design options to LeAnn and she chose Taj Mahal - Echoed and I love it!! Taj Mahal - Echoed is one of Patricia Ritter and my panto designs!! Itβs such a beautiful one and quilts out easily. Itβs available at Urban Elementz.
I used hobbs wool batting on this one which made it extra puffy with the minky on the backing. I used a cream Omni thread from Superior Threads.
This pattern is so versatile. You could make a christmas or 4th of july or winter quilt. If youβre looking for a star quilt, this is a great one!
Look at that minky backing. This is why I suggest solid colored minky with a regular pile. The ones with the longer fibers look fun, but actually hide too much of the quilting, and they are honestly hard to deal with.
Next up, this darling quilt that LeAnn made for her grand daughter. Lucky her!!!
This lovely Quarter Star pattern is an exclusive quilt that Amy Smart did with My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe. Go watch the video of Amy and Kris.
We chose the Flower Child panto by Apricot Moon Designs, which is available at Urban Elementz. Iβve used this one several times, itβs a great one.
I used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles based out of Utah and Natural White Omni Thread from Superior Threads.
Those flowers on all those sweet floralsβ¦love!!
I love how a quilt comes alive with beautiful quilty texture!!!
This is another versatile quilt!! Imagine all the different seasons or holidays. It also could be masculine or feminine depending on your fabric choices.
This is 4 Patch Charm by Amanda Niederhauser. I love the +βs in the corners of each block.
LeAnn chose Grapevine by Denise Shillinger for the panto design, which happens to be my favorite leaf panto!! Itβs also available at Urban Elementz.
I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles and cream Omni thread from Superior Threads.
I love how the leaves seem to dance across the quilt.
Look at that solid minky!!! Iβm telling you. If youβd like a unique texture on the minky backing of your quilt, go with solid regular minky 100% of the timeβ¦when you put minky on the back of a quiltβ¦and youβll love that quilty texture!!!
Next, this gorgeous Summer Meadow quilt.
The pattern is by Amanda Niederhauser and is in her More Playful Precuts book. Here is a link to it on Amazon if the shop I tagged sales out of the book.
I gave LeAnn a few choices and she chose the Canary panto by Patricia Ritter and me. Itβs available at Urban Elementz. I love the swirls with the open bubbly feathers.
I used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles and cream Omni thread from Superior Threads.
I love the classic traditional pattern and fabrics that LeAnn used on this quilt. It reminds me of when I first started sewing quilts. Such beautiful memories!!
Look at those swirly feathers!! Also I love a corner of the backing with the front of the quilt! I need to take more pictures like these in the future.
Here in northern Utah the Utah State Aggies are a fan favorite and I love it when Aggie quilts come my way!
This is the Walk About pattern by Ann Lauer from Grizzly Gulch Gallery. I love how dimensional it looks.
I used a tan Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
Look at all of that glorious texture!!!
And, of courseβ¦GO AGGIES!!
Thanks for being here and supporting my quilting journey. Itβs so fun for me to quilt my designs on some of my client quilts, but even more fun to see them on your client quilts. Thanks for the support!! It means the world to me.
If youβre interested in having me quilt edge to edge for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. Happy Quilting!! Leisha
Debbieβs Shadow Blossom Quilt
Debbie made this incredible Shadow Blossom quilt which is a pattern by Carolyn from Free Bird Quilting Designs.
The pattern can be found here: https://www.freebirdquiltingdesigns.com.au/shop/16-shadow-blossom-pattern/?utm_source=IGShopping&utm_medium=Social
I used Hobbs wool batting which made the quilting pop!!! We also decided on a Omni-V variegated thread that matched these colors from Superior Threads.
I suggested Undulation by Ambling Vines for the quilting design, and Debbie said yes!! Itβs such a fun design and quilts out beautifully. It can be found at https://matantequiltingshop.com/products/undulation
The texture with this pattern is soooo good!!
Because the blossoms in the pattern are so large I did the quilting design large as well. The scale at which I quilt panto designs has a lot to do with the overall scale of the pattern. Something more dense wouldnβt harmonize very well.
Thanks for stopping by!! If youβd like me to quilt something edge to edge for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day. https://calendly.com/quiltingit
Happy Quilting!! Leisha
Kathyβs Star Storm Astros Quilt
So excited to share this amazing baseball quilt with you!!!
Kathy made this for her son who is a huge Houston Astros fan!!! She asked that I quilt it custom, and I think it turned out so awesome.
The pattern is called Star Storm by Victoria Findlay Wolfe, you can find the pattern here: https://vfwquilts.com/products/star-storm-pattern
In the very center of the star I started with a line from point to point in the star and then added 5 lines, one is in the ditch of the navy and orange seam, in each point of the star. In the white grunge fabric I quilted my Overlapping Line design, which is something I teach in my Quilting It Freemotion Course. Go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course
Next, on the Houston Astros fabric I did line bursts which are a quick easy way to add some fun texture to a quilt. It worked beautifully in these long sections so I wasnβt measuring and trying to make a motif fit. In the orange I quilted 1/4β pinstripes with a 1/2β gap from each edge and it made the center stripe a little bigger, but it is centered so it worked great!! In the baseball fabric I quilt 45Β° lines 1/2β apart on the entire quilt. The lines on my ruler made that easy peasy. I repeated each design in the same fabric.
I used my 16β Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple for every single stitch on this quilt. Her straight rulers are my favorite!!! Go to: https://www.thequiltedpineapple.com/shop/
We decided on grey thread, so I used Silver Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
Here is a close up on all the different lines!! So excited to see how simple lines together can harmonize so well.
Another view of the lines from the center out. I start quilts in the top left and work my way to the right before rolling to the next section. I even did that with this quilt. It would be a saggy bubbly mess if I started in the center and worked my way out.
The back looks so good, too!!! I couldnβt be happier.
Itβs amazing what comes when I quilt the shape of the pattern from the front. Kathy was thrilled!!
Thanks for stopping by!! If youβre interested in having me quilt edge to edge for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day. https://calendly.com/quiltingit
Happy quilting!! Leisha
Dianaβs βOh Christmas Deerβ Quilt
Excited to share this darling quilt with you that my friend and neighbor Diana Hatfield designed!!! Such a privilege to quilt it for her.
Itβs called βOh Christmas Deerβ and is available in a kit with Flexi Fuse already fused on the back and itβs also cut out ready to press onto your background fabric.
I used a variety of different colors of Omni thread from Superior Threads to match the different fabrics. I also used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.
Are you hoping to learn how to freemotion quilt? This quilt has a couple different textures that I teach in my Quilting It Freemotion course. The background is a Crackle freehand design that is so fun and versatile for a variety of different quilts. The other is the Wood Grain design, which is also great as fur in animals, which I did here. Freehand or freemotion designs are really versatile. Iβve quilted the wood grain design on an entire quilt, on tree trunks, on the faces or bodies of animals, in flower stems, leaves, and so onβ¦same with the crackle. Iβve quilted it on garden themed quilts, as well as Halloween and Christmas and anything that would be great to βcrackleβ. Please join me and letβs get quilting!!
For a sneak peek into my course, watch this intro video.
For the lines in the bow and pinstripes in the antlers I used an Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. Her Edge rulers are my favorite straight rulers.
Isnβt he handsome!!??!!
I quilted a little bit in the ornaments just to keep them from laying or popping weird. Just an echoing line or two. Then I just quilted around the outside of the pine cones. The nice thing about the kit, all of these pieces are precut and you get all the amazing details.
Love all the quilty textures.
Are you hoping to have something quilted? Check out my calendar and schedule a day or two for edge to edge quilting. Happy quilting!! Leisha
Barbaraβs Table Runners
I have a few beautiful table toppers and a runner to share with you today!!
My friend Barbara makes beautiful runners or toppers to donate for an auction to help support youth activities at her church. These lovely runners are the ones she donated last fall.
Fabrics and pattern for the first two are by Fig Tree & Company called Acorn Woods. These are the leaf blocks, and the next one are the acorn blocks from the same quilt pattern.
I used my 4β Circle2 ruler to quilt all these lovely curves. Scroll to the bottom to see my 4β/10β ruler. It comes in a set of 6 rulers, and the circles range in size from 2β to 13β. They are available in my shop. I also used an Edge ruler from my friend Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. She has my very favorite straight rulers.
I used 8020 cotton poly blend batting scraps for all of these toppers/runner, from Winline Textiles. Do throw those bigger scraps away, they are perfect for something like this. I used cream Omni thread from Superior Threads.
Here are those cute acorn blocks from the same Acorn Woods pattern.
With this one I wanted a variety of different textures for the quilting. To highlight the acorns, I quilted a variety of different lines, once again with one of Lindaβs rulers. Including the simple x quilted in the center squares.
The Grassy background and Pebbles in the border are freehand designs that I teach in my Quilting It Freemotion course. Which is available on my website. If youβre hoping to learn how to freemotion quilt, let me help you!
I also used 8020 batting scraps and cream Omni thread for this one as well.
This lovely runner is a pattern by Kim Diehl. Itβs called Hen House Stars. Kim designed 8 beautiful mini quilts for the Simple Whatnots Club Collection and this is one of them. These are also Kimβs fabrics.
I used Lindaβs Edge ruler again for all the lines.
I quilted all the petals and circles that are in the background freehand.
I used cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and another 8020 scrap leftover from one of her quilts.
This fun runner is called Fall into Autumn by Lindsey from Primrose Cottage Quilts.
I quilted my freehand Swirly Feather in the leaves, another design that I teach in my Quilting It Freemotion course, as well as the Stipple that I quilted in the background. I framed it with some ribbon candy in the inner border. If youβd like to have an inside peak at my course, check out this video.
I also used an 8020 batting scrap and Natural White Omni thread from Superior Thread.
I used my 4β Circle2 ruler again in the square border to create the beautiful orange peel petals. If you quilt, freemotion and havenβt started using rulers yet, I highly encourage you to give it a try. It will change everything for your custom quilting.
Thanks for being in my little part of the quilty world!! Happy quilting, Leisha π
Lisaβs Baby Quilts
Lisa made a few baby quilts that I had the privilege of doing edge to edge quilting onβ¦and they are simple makes. I donβt think that she used a pattern for either.
The flag panel is from Sarah Federking and is called Little Explorers from Studio E Fabrics. Then she used a variety of different animal prints for the top and bottom borders with the rust orange dot, love the combination!
Quilting adds so much dimension and texture, and Malachite by Patricia Ritter doesnβt disappoint!! I love using it on map quilts, which adds kind of a ripple effect on the water and dimension on the land. Itβs available at Urban Elementz.
I used 4oz bamboo batting from Winline Textiles and natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads.
A close up on the quiltingβ¦
Check out that minky + quilting β¦itβs sooo good!! This is why solid minky is always the best idea when choosing minky for the backing. The quilting texture doesnβt compete with a minky texture or longer pile, when it is the regular solid minky. The regular solid minky also comes in 90β wide bolts as well.
Lisa made two of these darling quilts.
Sew squares together with sashing in between, and then add large triangles on the sides to create an on point center for the block.
I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads on both of them as well as the 4oz bamboo batting from Winline Textiles. Itβs such a soft and cuddly batting, definitely one of my favorites.
I used Baptist Clam by Laurie Thomas from Itβs a Quilt Thing to quilt it. And it quilted out beautifully!
I hope that you enjoyed these darling baby quilts and the quilty textures. If youβre hoping to have something quilted, check out my edge to edge quilting calendar and schedule a day or two. Thank you!! Happy quilting, leisha.
Amandaβs Patchwork Duffle Bag
Last year for my sisterβs birthday I made her a duffle bag. I let her pick the fabrics, and I love how it turned out. She loves it, too!
I used the Patchwork Duffle pattern by my friend Kait from Knot + Thread. Iβve made this a few times, itβs a great pattern!!! Here is the bag I made for a friend and here is my bag. Have you made one yet?
I used soft and stable, which is a glorious 1/4βish thick foam that adds a pop of dimension and perfect thickness to the bag. Kait has it available at Knot + Thread. Soft and Stable is so easy to quilt and sew through.
I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads.
I gave my sister a few options for quilting designs and she chose Domestic Stitches - Triangles, which is one of several designs I sell in my shop that have a fun geometric style, similar to some designs quilted on a domestic machine. Doing those kind of designs can be difficult on a longarm.
The lining is a fun fabric by Gingiber from her Words to Live By line from Moda. The floral is Lady Bird by Crystal Manning from Moda as well as the Bella solid we used for the handles.
I had enough left over to make her a zipper pouch, too!
My sister is often spending the weekend away, and why not have this adorable bag to take her things in. Her little boy was so excited when I gave it to her, he was packing blankets and toys in it from my parents house.
My handmade tags are woven and wonderful quality. I use them on other bags and my quilts. I got them from Custom Labels 4 U. I love them!!!
If love to quilt for you!! Check out my edge to edge quilting calendar and schedule a day. Happy quilting!! Leisha
